2014 Sitivinitech in Mendoza

Once again Mendoza played host to what is arguably the most important trade show in the wine industry: Sitivinitech 2014. From May 27 to the 29th, Sitivinitech filled the Arena Maipu Mall with tents and activities inside and out, fifteen minutes southeast of downtown. The event was organized by FISA, Congress and Exhibition in Bordeaux and Comexposium – the largest industry event in Latin America.
Sitivinitech is a relatively new cooperative and one that arose from the merger of two international exhibitions: Sitevi and Vinitech, two French events that gained global recognition as leaders in the wine sector. Since 2012, these two events have joined forces and brought together industry players at the same time and in the same zip code. The Sitivinitech stands feature companies involved in all manner of agricultural equipment, supplies, and services aimed to support the wine industry.
The 2014 Argentina Sitivinitech, the second to be hosted in Mendoza, featured more than 250 domestic and foreign exhibitors, seminars, trade talks, as well as business roundtable negotiations.
“This second edition of the show offers a rich space for innovations and content. It is essential for the development of the sector,” said Jean Hugues Barsot, director of Bodegas de Argentina.
The trade show featured equipment, services, and materials needed in the industry. There was the big stuff: de-stemming machines, presses, bottling lines, pumps, French oak barrels, cement fermentation tanks, and enormous harvesters. The little stuff: chemical additives, foil capsules in every color, corks in every variety, soil samples, and pruning shears. As well as pretty much everything in between.
“This space is of great importance for the whole production chain for small and medium enterprises, which cannot easily attend other fairs held abroad,” said Carlos Tizio, general manager of Clos de Los Siete Winery Group. “It is designed to bring the world to our province, to learn about new technologies, new services, and equipment. It also allows us to meet our suppliers and have access to the technical and academic activity that takes place at the trade show.”
